SCENAR Therapy
What is SCENAR Therapy?
SCENAR Therapy is a revolutionary therapeutic medical modality that uses computer-modulated interactive electro-stimulation to prompt the body to heal itself. The SCENAR (Self-Controlled Energo Neruo Adaptive Regulator) is a hand-held therapeutic medical device (ARTG 101783), licensed to treat pain and physiological dysfunction.
Why is SCENAR different?
SCENAR therapy is different from other therapeutic stimulation because a SCENAR device interacts with the body through the skin to precisely and simultaneously locate, measure and treat problem areas to help relieve pain and restore function.
Where was SCENAR developed?
SCENAR was initially developed by doctors and scientists within the Russian space program in the late 1970s to cope with the unique problems of space travel. Today SCENAR is a mainstream medical modality in Russia and there it has very many applications.
How does SCENAR work?
SCENAR works by helping the body to heal itself. As the body adjusts and adapts to many environmental and internal influences, it is said to be maintaining homeostasis. When the body is unable to adjust to impacts and influences it may go into physical dysfunction and pathology.
SCENAR treatments are guided by the body's responses. SCENAR Therapy seeks to help the body regain homeostasis by finding and treating 'asymmetries' which are telltale signs and areas where homeostasis is not present. This is the central principle of the SCENAR treatment approach and this means that SCENAR can be used to treat painful and dysfunctional problems anywhere in the body.
Is SCENAR Therapy safe?
Yes, however, pregnant women and people with heart pacemakers should NOT receive SCENAR Therapy treatments.
SCENAR Therapy is non-invasive and non-toxic and is designed to help your body to heal itself. It gently prompts your nervous system to become responsive where it may have had trouble being so. It interacts on a completely individualised basis. Some symptoms may exacerbate (get worse or more painful) for a short period (24-48 hours) before being relieved and this is usual with some painful problems. If pain and symptoms persist, see your health professional.
How does SCENAR Therapy treatment feel?
As the SCENAR is moved over the surface of the skin, you will feel a tingling sensation. The power level is then adjusted to suit your sensitivity. Patients often report they experience an almost immediate reduction in pain and often express that they feel 'relieved, relaxed and energised' after a treatment session. Patients generally experience an increase in energy, more refreshing sleep and an improved sense of well-being. Children can also be treated.
How often will I need a treatment?
SCENAR treatments are usually more frequent at the beginning. As your condition improves, the frequency of treatment can be reduced. This is particularly true of acute problems that usually respond very well to more intensive and frequent treatments. Chronic problems may require a more measured and gentler treatment regime. A course of treatments for difficult problems will vary greatly from individual to individual, and will depend on such factors as the stage and response level of the pathological process, your age, overall state of health, lifestyle and so on.
What about my conventional treatment?
Neil will recommend you advise your doctor you are receiving this treatment. The aim is that any non-essential drugs can be reduced or eliminated over time and your doctor may need to be involved with these decisions. SCENAR Therapy can be received simultaneously with other types of therapy and treatment. SCENAR may help to relieve side effects associated with other treatments.
